CAP care bundle

The steering group developed an intervention based on the care bundle concept of identifying clinical actions proven to influence patient outcome.

The care bundle contains ‘the essentials’, clinical actions that are known to improve patient outcomes and contains only a few items.  The British Thoracic Society CAP guidelines contain over 100 recommendations, with varying levels of supporting evidence and covering a broad range of CAP treatment issues.   The care bundle is simplified and contains 5 essential elements of care.
