Information Workstream

Standardised data for primary and secondary/tertiary care relating to antibiotic consumption will be developed so that front-line staff have access to this relevant to their own Practice, ward and hospital. Standardised data from a core surveillance programme will provide clinical teams with regular, local and national antibiotic resistance data among key agreed pathogens (ALERT pathogens). Point prevalence study tools will be developed and established that will be consistent with existing European models and which allow assessment of current and future quality of antimicrobial prescribing and antimicrobial resistance within and across NHS Boards .
