The SMC is hosting a conference on Tuesday 23 September 2008 in the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh

The main purpose of the conference is to showcase the outcome of the SMC Evaluation Programme which will provide the results of the evaluation of the uptake of SMC advice and SMC engagement with its key stakeholders, including stakeholder perspectives from industry, health boards and public partners.  However, a wide variety of topics will be presented including the recent programme for the Scottish Management of Antimicrobial Resistance Action Plan (ScotMARAP) who will take forward work of ensuring the implementation of the new antibiotic resistance action plan.  We will hear about the good work of cognate bodies in new drugs assessment from elsewhere in Europe and there will be time dedicated to various elements required to make a good submission to SMC.
