in the absence of a submission from the holder of the marketing authorisation

botulinum toxin type a (Bocouture ®) is not recommended for use within NHS Scotland.

Indication under review: for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines (vertical lines between the eyebrows) seen at frown, in adult patients under 65 years, when the severity of these lines has an important psychological impact on the patient.

The holder of the marketing authorisation has not made a submission to SMC regarding this product in this indication due to its cosmetic nature.  As a result we cannot recommend its use within NHSScotland.
