Webinar aims to reduce antibiotic prescribing

A webinar designed to help reduce antibiotic prescribing is to be held this March.

The session, entitled Quality Prescribing, is part of the Scottish Reduction in Antimicrobial Prescribing (ScRAP) programme. It aims to help primary care workers:

•    Minimise resistance and healthcare associated infection
•    Manage patient expectations around antibiotics
•    Target antibiotic prescribing for urinary tract infection (uncomplicated, complicated and recurrent)

Participants can choose from six faciltated interactive "bite sized" learning sessions to support them and their colleagues to improve.

Primarily aimed at GP practices, the webinar may also be of interest to others involved in the assessment and management of infection in primary care, such as district nurses and care home staff.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday1 March from 1- 2pm.  To find out more and register, email HAI@nes.scot.nhs.uk by Monday 20 February.
